We seek to provide solutions for both the Ministry of Defence (MoD), United States Air Force (USAF) and their specialist supply chain through the innovative interpretation of defence guidance criteria and a collaborative approach.
Our experienced team can offer professional advice on an independent or multi-disciplinary basis to suit the project need. Whatever the scale or complexity, we look to balance creativity and value in the design of defence projects. We can also utilise BIM workflows through the development stages where applicable.
Our specialist expertise covers many areas including new-build design; conversion; refurbishment; alterations to listed buildings; base master planning; sustainable design and specialist security design.
Our key staff have significant levels of expertise in working within the defence sector. The experience of such individuals specialising in this area totals over 150 projects. This diverse range of schemes and commissions include condition surveys and facility management (FM) works through to major multi-million pound projects including high security buildings and specialist training facilities.
We employ qualified professionals that bring over 15 years’ combined experience on both UK and US sites throughout the country. This ensures that Team Leads are fully conversant with both UK defence and US defence standards having particular regard to both UK MoD and USAF defence processes hence ensuring that expectations on complex projects are managed from inception through to completion.
Our objective is to develop design solutions which provide freedom of choice and meet the needs of individual end users, service users and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO). Designs are checked for technical compliance, including compliance with UK defence guidelines such as:
Our defence experience gives us the cross-sector knowledge required to achieve optimum design solutions in all areas of defence related projects. We consult extensively with user groups to ensure all stakeholder needs are incorporated. This is often extended to FM so that continuity can be established across sites with preferred FM regimes, base standards or specific suppliers being considered.
With over 170 professional staff we assemble teams to best suit the project type and meet our clients’ requirements. We approach each project holistically and look to provide energy-efficient solutions with minimum maintenance requirements.
Our team has experience in handling complicated multi-building and multi-discipline modelling projects that require high levels of coordination through clash detection, collaborative modelling and the hosting of live model workshops during design team meetings where applicable.
Ingleton Wood LLP recently acquired Martindales Architects Ltd. and has transferred all staff to Ingleton Wood Martindales, a wholly owned subsidiary. This acquisition has enabled our teams to further strengthen the defence expertise of the wider organisation through it’s individual members.
